You Know Him. You Trust Him.

Cunning, Ambitious and Unprincipled Men

George Washington said, “Political parties may now and then answer popular ends, they are likely in the course of time and things, to become potent engines, by which cunning, ambitious, and unprincipled men will be enabled to subvert the power of the people and to usurp for themselves the reins of government, destroying afterwards the very engines which have lifted them to unjust dominion.”

There is no arguing the prescience of Washington’s warning.  He called it.  We’ve allowed these cunning, ambitious and unprincipled men to wield power for so long that they’ve pretty much destroyed the engines that have lifted them to unjust dominion.

We are all now wondering if it is even possible for us to continue as a constitutional republic, we’ve allowed our nation to descend so far into this hellish abyss.

I remain hopeful because I have the opportunity to get up each day and communicate my thoughts on the internet, and in person as a candidate for political office.  My faith will sustain me if I lose this opportunity, have even my freedom to move stripped from me, and rot in a prison cell for the rest of my life.

I fear that my days of respecting the Republican Party enough to work for political change from inside that Party are coming to a close.  I may decide this week to pull the plug on my petition drive.  Successfully completing that process may put me on the June Republican Primary ballot.  It may not.  These forces always seem to have a trick up their sleeve. I have encountered such ferocious resistance from the Republican hierarchy that continuing on may prove unjustifiable.  I’m going to be analyzing the situation this week.

If I resign from the Republican Party I will immediately launch my Independent bid for Governor.

This will prove to be their worst nightmare come November.  Republicans will forever regret not allowing me to stir up their base during the primary election season by debating King Turn Le(the)Page.  Their coronation will prove to be their undoing.  Not that this means much.  Demi, the State Committee and Turn Le(the)Page are already doing a great job of destroying the party.

I will defeat Jezebel Janet Kills and Paul Turn Le(the)Page in the general election by serving as the Independent truth teller against their cunning, ambitious and unprincipled political machines.

Maine elected two Independent Governors in my lifetime.

The third time is the charm.
