I haven’t confirmed any of this with the LePage campaign, but it sounds plausible.

It used to be that a fearless and assertive person could make lots of money as paparazzi shadowing public figures for the media. I guess those days are gone. Now any assertive punk with an agenda and a cellphone can make a person’s passing through time and space miserable. It feels like a sort of doxxing.

Turn LePage handled the incident poorly. But it is that instant sense of umbrage at being wronged that helped make him Governor two times. People are angry. His common sense vernacular, and old school American values make him popular with older folks.

Younger folks are demanding a more sexually libertine and Left leaning snark than LePage is capable of delivering.
